Description
Under the direct supervision of the Communications Manager, the Media Production Coordinator is accountable and responsible for the production of digital and printed materials distributed by the CHN. The ideal candidate will have a strong video and audio production skills, and a storytelling and photography background. This role involves shooting and editing video content, recording and producing podcasts, and capturing images that engage our audience and reflect the business and culture of the Haida Nation. This position can be based in Gaw Tlagée Old Massett or HlGaagildaa Skidegate.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Video Production - Plan, shoot, and edit video. Experience with lighting and sound.
- Audio Production - Script, record, edit and produce audio for podcasts and other projects.
- Photography - Capture still images that reflect the Nation’s business and culture.
- Storytelling - With the Communications Team craft narratives that resonate with Haida citizens, Islands’ residents and others.
- Project Management - Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have knowledge and understanding of Haida laws, traditions, and values.
- Proven experience in video and audio production, including shooting and editing.
- Strong storytelling skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Xaad Kíl and Xaayda Kil.
- Experience in podcast production.
- Basic knowledge of video, lighting and sound equipment.
- Work experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, Team, and SharePoint; Adobe Reader, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver; FileMaker Pro Advanced; Final Cut Pro; Mailchimp; WordPress; Ustream; and Sennheiser Audio systems will be an asset.
- Must be able to travel to various locations on Haida Gwaii for meetings throughout the year.
- Must have a valid B.C. driver’s license.
$31.34- $35.25 per hour based on experience, full-time 35 hours per week. Benefit Package: Dental Care, Extended health care, Vision care, Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Pension Plan, Paid time off.
